The musician Marc Lavry, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Riga on the 22nd December 1903, the same year of the composers Arrieu, Azmayparashvili, Berkeley, Blacher, Blanter, Bogdanov-Berezovsky, Britain, Douglas, Duke, Giannini, Goldschmidt, Kadosa, Karyotakis, Lopatnikov, Meytus, Milford, Milyutin, Nabokov. He died in Haifa on the 20th March 1967
