What ItalianOpera investigations are

ItalianOpera investigations arise from direct research on historical sources, manuscripts, treatises and original documents. They are not popular essays but processes of verification: every claim and reconstruction is grounded in verifiable materials, historically contextualised and analysed without deference to established academic traditions.

When history does not add up

Many certainties of modern music theory are the result of unverified repetition. Altered catalogues, late attributions, categories invented retrospectively and simplified teaching systems have produced a history that appears orderly only on the surface. Investigations begin precisely from these fractures.
