Josef Rudolf Zavrtal

(1819-1893)

The composer Josef Rudolf Zavrtal (Sawerthal) was a author of vocal and instrumental music; was born in Polepy on the 5th November 1819, the same year of the composers Abt, Biaggi, Campana, De Giosa, Deffés, Glover, Gouvy, Henrion, Hopp, Liebe, Mazzolani, Miladowski, Moniuszko, Oberthür, Offenbach, Puig, Suppé. He died in Litomerice on the third May 1893
