Girolamo Alessandro Biaggi, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Calcio on the second February 1819, the same year of the composers Abt, Campana, De Giosa, Deffés, Glover, Gouvy, Henrion, Hopp, Liebe, Mazzolani, Miladowski, Moniuszko, Oberthür, Offenbach, Puig, Suppé. He died in Firenze on the 21 March 1897
