The musician Bertram Luard-Selby was born in Ightham on the 12nd February 1853, the same year of the composers Arkas, Bridge, Henneberg, Keurvels, Knorr, Koessler, Lagoanère, Malherbe, Messager, Porumbescu, Rendano, Roger, Rousseau. He died in Glanford Brigg (Lincs.) on the 26th December 1918
