Hans Gál (Gal), who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Brunn on the 5th August 1890, the same year of the composers Ambros, Barbier, Bourguignon, Canal, Clokey, Cortinas, Grad, Guerrini, Gurlitt, Ibert, Kovalev, Manning, Martin, Martinu, Medins, Moore, Nottara, Nystroem, Petersen, Reuter, Roig, Schoemaker. Died in Edinburgh on the third October 1987
