The composer Florizel von Reuter, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Davenport on the 21 Jenuary 1890, the same year of the composers Ambros, Barbier, Bourguignon, Canal, Clokey, Cortinas, Grad, Guerrini, Gurlitt, Gál, Ibert, Kovalev, Manning, Martin, Martinu, Medins, Moore, Nottara, Nystroem, Petersen, Roig, Schoemaker. He died in Waukesha (Wis.) on the 10th May 1985
