The musician Gail (Thompson) Kubik, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in South Coffeyville on the 5th September 1914, the same year of the composers Anderberg, Cazden, Devcic, Dumitrescu, Effinger, Gross, Johansson, Kapr, Kleinsinger, Kubelik, Malipiero, Masanetz, Mellers, Márkos, Ohana, Pallandios, Ryterband, Sonninen, Sulek, Tulikov. He died in Covina (Calif.) on the 20th July 1984
