Franz Schmidt was born in Bratislava on the 22nd December 1874, the same year of the composers Bittner, Brandts Buys, Castaldi, Ettinger, Eysler, Gatty, Göhler, Hahn, Hart, Holst, Landré, Marteau. Henri, Nedbal, Neglia, Neumann, Onofri, Parelli, Pierné, Schmid, Schoenberg, Sánchez de Fuentes.
