The composer Jan Josef (Jozef, Johann Joseph) Rösler (Rössler), author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Banská Stiavnica on the 22nd August 1771, the same year of the composers Benelli, Bergt, Cannabich, Catrufo, Choron, Paër, Ruppe, Stegmayer. He died in Praga on the 28th Jenuary 1813
