César Cortinas was born in San José on the 9th August 1890, the same year of the composers Ambros, Barbier, Bourguignon, Canal, Clokey, Grad, Guerrini, Gurlitt, Gál, Ibert, Kovalev, Manning, Martin, Martinu, Medins, Moore, Nottara, Nystroem, Petersen, Reuter, Roig, Schoemaker. He died in Córdoba (Argentina) on the 23th March 1918
