TESTO DEL LIED

"Scarce had the rising sun appear'd"
di anonimo

Scarce had the rising sun appear'd
To gild the dawning day,
When in a neighb'ring grove I heard
A murm'ring voice to say,
"Be kind, sweet nymph, since heav'n affords
Conveniences and place;"
He had as prevalent charm in his words,
As she had in her face.
Beauty to pleasing flatteries must yield,
Tho' the first conquers, yet these win the field.
