Her Life
Education and Early Steps
Beatrice Venezi was born in Lucca on March 5, 1990. From a very young age, she approached the study of music, starting with the piano while simultaneously attending artistic and musical studies. After graduating from artistic high school, she continued her musical training, graduating in piano from the "Rinaldo Franci" Higher Institute of Musical Studies in Siena.
Subsequently, she oriented her studies toward orchestral conducting, specializing with various Italian masters and participating in musical courses and academies. She also attended several piano masterclasses with leading Italian performers and continued her training in Florence and Siena.
In 2015, she obtained her diploma in orchestral conducting from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan with honors. During the same years, she had the opportunity to work as an assistant in operatic productions and collaborate with various musical institutions, gaining practical experience on the podium.
First Conducting Roles
Her first experiences as an CONDUCTORS date back to the mid-2010s. After several concerts with youth orchestras, in 2016 she was appointed principal conductor of the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti Young in Naples, an ensemble dedicated to promoting young musicians.
During the same period, she participated in international conducting competitions and began collaborating with European symphony orchestras. Among her first international experiences was her collaboration with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, where she served as assistant conductor.
Her debut in the operatic field took place at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, where she conducted several productions related to the Puccini repertoire. The success of these early experiences led to her being invited back to the festival and obtaining guest conducting roles.
International Career
Starting from the late 2010s, Beatrice Venezi began to develop an increasingly broad presence on the international musical scene, conducting symphony orchestras and participating in festivals and operatic productions in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. In 2018, she conducted the orchestra at the Lucca Summer Festival on the occasion of the celebrations for the 160th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini's birth, and during the same period, she began collaborations with orchestras such as the Sofia Philharmonic and the Japan Virtuoso Symphony Orchestra, performing at the famous Suntory Hall in Tokyo.
In the following years, she debuted in various international musical institutions, including symphony orchestras in Canada, Argentina, and Japan. Simultaneously, she took on artistic roles in Italy, including the principal direction of the Orchestra da Camera Milano Classica. In 2019, she released her first album for Warner Classics, My Journey, dedicated to the orchestral music of Giacomo Puccini and recorded with the Orchestra della Toscana.
After the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, concert activity resumed with new operatic debuts. In 2021, she conducted Madama Butterfly at the Opéra-Théâtre de Metz and debuted in the United Kingdom at Opera Holland Park in London with Pietro Mascagni's L’amico Fritz. During the same period, she released the album Heroines, recorded with the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento.
Alongside her musical activity, she has also participated in cultural and institutional initiatives. In 2022, she was appointed artistic director of the Fondazione Taormina Arte and held musical consultancy roles in the cultural field. During these years, she took part in high-visibility international events, including the concert organized at Buckingham Palace for Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, conducting the orchestra accompanying Andrea Bocelli.
In more recent years, she has continued to conduct orchestras in Italy and abroad, collaborating with various symphonic and operatic institutions. International engagements include concerts in South America and Asia, as well as operatic productions and symphonic galas. In 2024, she debuted at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires directing Turandot, and subsequently conducted orchestras and concerts in Korea and Macau.
Her activity continues to develop across symphonic concerts, operatic productions, and outreach initiatives dedicated to spreading classical music, alongside her conducting work with editorial and educational projects.
Appointment at Teatro La Fenice
In September 2025, Beatrice Venezi was appointed musical director of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, one of Italy's leading opera houses. The appointment represents a further step in her conducting career, placing her at the head of a historic institution in European musical life.
The appointment sparked a wide debate in the musical world and within the Venetian theatrical environment. In the following months, the theater's management faced various internal discussions related to artistic organization and programming management.
Despite the climate of debate that accompanied the start of her tenure, the conductor has continued her concert and operatic activity both in Italy and abroad, continuing to collaborate with international orchestras and musical institutions.
