COMPOSERS

Life

Since the birth and death dates are unknown, it is not possible to apply the classification method.

Cosimo Casini was an Italian composer active between the end of the seventeenth and the beginning of the eighteenth century. His places of birth and death are not precisely known, but his activity places him in the Italian musical tradition of the time.

The few remaining reports indicate that he wrote sacred and secular music, fitting into the line of composers who contributed to renewing the vocal and instrumental repertoire of the era. Although less well-known than his contemporaries, he represents one of the many figures who enriched the musical landscape of eighteenth-century Italy.

Aneddoto

A mysterious figure

Casini's life remains shrouded in mystery: only fragments of his production are known, which testify to a lively but poorly documented compositional activity.

Works

Testimonies remain of sacred and secular compositions by Casini, probably masses, motets, cantatas, and instrumental pieces. However, the absence of detailed sources makes it difficult to precisely outline his catalogue.
