Her training took place within the complex climate of the Fin de siècle, where Realism and Decadentism coexisted, while her artistic maturity expressed itself in the early 20th century, an era marked by the coexistence of Symbolist and Decadent aesthetics and the disruption of avant-garde movements like Futurism.
Born in Genoa in 1869, she studied piano at the Gioachino Rossini musical lyceum in Pesaro under the guidance of Mario Vitale and Luigi Torchi, graduating in 1892. She began a career as a pianist, appreciated for her interpretive sensitivity and stylistic refinement.
In parallel, she dedicated herself to composition, writing numerous piano pieces, chamber lyrics, and sacred pages. Her production reflected an elegant taste and a profound knowledge of the Italian musical tradition.
She was active between the 19th and 20th centuries, living in Milan, where she died in 1941. Her name remains linked to her dedication to music and her role as a female composer in an era that offered few opportunities for women to establish themselves.
