Born in Bologna in 1833, Alessandro Busi dedicated himself to musical studies and embarked on a multifaceted career that saw him engaged as a composer, conductor, and teacher. His activity developed mainly in his native city, but he also received recognition in other Italian locations.
He composed theatrical works, sacred music, and instrumental music, characterized by solid writing and melodic sensitivity. As a conductor, he led concerts and performances that contributed to Bolognese musical life in the 19th century.
He was also an esteemed teacher, remembered for his commitment to the training of new generations of musicians. He died in Bologna in 1895.
