Born in Cremona in 1752, Francesco Bianchi received a thorough musical training that soon led him to stand out on the Italian scene. After his studies, he embarked on a career as a theatrical author, managing to get noticed for the fresh and communicative style of his scores.

Bianchi wrote numerous melodramas performed in Italian and foreign theaters. Among the titles that had the greatest echo are works staged in Venice, Milan and especially in London, where he achieved his most significant goals.
Alongside the theater, his pen also produced wide-ranging sacred compositions. Masses, motets and oratorios were performed in churches and chapels, showing a more meditative and spiritual side of his art.
This dual activity, theatrical and liturgical, made Bianchi a complete musician, capable of leaving lasting traces on both stages and in places of worship.
