Lazar Weiner, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Cherkassy on the 27th October 1897, the same year of the composers Ascone, Barth, Bentzon, Bravnicar, Cowell, Fernström, Gerster, Golishev, Heward, Kerr, Korngold, Kósa, Lillen, Lorenzo Fernândez, Maganini, Mignone, Moeschinger, Riisager, Salmon, Sorozabal (Marialcurrena), Stringfield, Sutherland, Tansman. He died in New York on the 10th Jenuary 1982
