The composer Powell Weaver, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Clearfield on the 10th June 1890, the same year of the composers Ambros, Barbier, Bourguignon, Canal, Clokey, Cortinas, Grad, Guerrini, Gurlitt, Gál, Ibert, Kovalev, Manning, Martin, Martinu, Medins, Moore, Nottara, Nystroem, Petersen, Reuter, Roig, Schoemaker. He died in Oakland (California) on the 22nd December 1951
