The musician Mariano Soriano Fuertes y Piqueras, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Murcia on the 28th March 1817, the same year of the composers Agnelli, Deldevez, Duggan, Gade, German Reed, Gregoir, Katski, Kreutzer, Kuntze, Lefébure-Wély, Mabellini, Maillart, Pedrotti, Robson, Thern, Tiehsen. He died in Madrid on the 26th March 1880
