The composer Harry Rowe Shelley was a author of vocal and instrumental music; was born in New Haven on the 8th June 1858, the same year of the composers Barkworth, Berson, Chapuis, De Lara, Elling, Erb, Fauchey, Ferroni, Hubay, Huë, Kazachenko, Klein, Krug, Lambert, Landini, Löhse, Major, Maunder, Mugnone, Müller-Reuter, Nicolau, Ochs, Puccini, Smyth, Tirindelli, Trnecek. He died in Short Beach (Conn.) on the 12nd September 1947
