Karl (Carl) Schröder (Schroeder), who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Quedlinburg on the 18th December 1848, the same year of the composers Allitsen, Dell'Orefice, Duparc, Giró, Gleason, Goldschmidt, Horner, Kistler, Kniese, Mancinelli, McCoy, Pembaur, Planquette, Puchalsky, Puget, Rice, Schytte. He died in Bremen on the 22nd September 1935
