Georg Aloys Schmitt was a author of vocal and instrumental music; was born in Hannover on the second February 1827, the same year of the composers Duprato, Gustaf, Jonas, Kania, Krempelsetzer, Meinardus, Mollenhauer, Naumann. He died in Dresda on the 15th October 1902
