The composer Joseph Guy (Marie) (Joseph) Ropartz was born in Guingamp on the 15th June 1864, the same year of the composers Albert, Azkué, Bachelet, Beer-Walbrunn, Berwald, Borgström, Browne, Castro Herrera, Goepp, Grechaninov, Körling, Lauber, Leoni, Nepomuceno, Othegraven, Procházka, Rottenberg, Strauss. Died in Lanloup-par-Plouha (Côtes du Nord) on the 22nd November 1955
