The composer Slavko Osterc, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Verzej on the 17th June 1895, the same year of the composers Baeyens, Binder, Brustad, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Castro, Dandelot, Dostal, Estrada, Gotovac, Gray, Guerrero (y Torre), Hindemith, Höffer, Kattnigg, Kogoj, Lyatoshyns'ky, Martelli, Nechayev, Orff, Rathaus, Rocca, Schiuma, Still, Thórdarson, Tijardovic, Toldrá, Trambitsky. Died in Ljubljana on the 23th May 1941
