The composer Alfred Mendelsohn, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Bucarest on the 17th February 1910, the same year of the composers Barber, Barraine, Bernal Jiménez, Bowles, Chailley, Demian, Engel, Glaser, Heiden, Hirai, Koch, Liebermann, Martinon, North, Peragallo, Porrino, Rajicic, Raphling, Reed, Reif, Reiner, Robinson, Schaeffer. Pierre, Schröder, Schuman, Stein, Still, Sutermeister, Tal, Tardos. He died in Bucarest on the 9th May 1966
