The composer Pedro Miguel Marqués y García, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Palma de Mallorca on the 20th May 1843, the same year of the composers Bechgaard, Bella, Bertha, Duyse, Erkel, Gialdini, Gregh, Grieg, Hamerik, Holst, Lefebvre, Lumbye, Napoleão dos Santos, Neuendorff, Pessard, Stephanescu. Died in Palma de Mallorca on the 25th February 1918
