Manuel Manrique de Lara (y Berry), author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Cartagena on the 24th October 1863, the same year of the composers Arbós, Baselt, Bax, Bordes, Brounoff, Campa, Clérice, Coronaro, Corri, Erlanger, Kaun, Lebrun, Leroux, Marschalk, Mascagni, Moór, Oosterzee, Parker, Pierné, Samuel-Holeman, Soltys. He died in St Blasien (Baden) on the 27th February 1929
