Alexander (Abramovich) Krein was born in Nizhni-Novgorod on the 20th October 1883, the same year of the composers Allen, Bartels, Bastianelli, Bath, Bossi, Casella, Davison, Doelle, Hauer, Hernried, Hrimalý, Infante, Jacobi, Kalomiris, Kartsev, Klenau, Kunc, Lhotka, Lloyd, Luncani, Lévy, Mandic, Manén, Moonie, Perrachio, Pringsheim, Refice, Samuel, Santoliquido, Toselli. He died in Staraya Ruza (Mosca) on the 21 April 1951
