Le compositeur Marij Kogoj est né à Trieste le 27 mai 1895, la même année des compositeurs Baeyens, Binder, Brustad, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Castro, Dandelot, Dostal, Estrada, Gotovac, Gray, Guerrero (y Torre), Hindemith, Höffer, Kattnigg, Lyatoshyns'ky, Martelli, Nechayev, Orff, Osterc, Rathaus, Rocca, Schiuma, Still, Thórdarson, Tijardovic, Toldrá, Trambitsky. Il mourut à Ljubljana le 25 février 1956
