Nikolai (Ivanovich) Kazanly was born in Tiraspol on the 17th December 1869, the same year of the composers Cook, Drdla, Giannetti, Hinton, Kalafati, Levadé, Melcer(-Szczawinski), Pfitzner, Poldini, Prohaska, Roussel.
