The composer Jules Jordan, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Willimantic on the 10th November 1850, the same year of the composers Brandts Buys, Bretón y Hernández, Fanciulli, Faning, Fibich, Georges, Heuberger, Keil, Komzák, Lange-Müller, Luigini, Meyer-Olbersleben, Miguez, Olsen, Scharwenka, Scontrino, Serrano y Ruiz, Simon, Taneyev, Thomas, Thomé, Toulmouche, Urspruch. He died in Providence on the 5th March 1927
