The composer Charles Jerome (Edward) Hopkins, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Burlington on the 4th April 1836, the same year of the composers Balakiriev, David, Delibes, Farmer, Gomes, Götze, Hartmann, Langert, Malling, Mesquita, Pearce. Died in Athenia (New Jersey) on the 4th November 1898
