Franz Anton Hoffmeister, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Rothenburg am Neckar on the 12nd May 1754, the same year of the composers Apell, Caruso, Dutillieu, Hinner, Kaffka, Marinelli, Palma, Rauzzini, Teyber. He died in Vienna on the 9th February 1812
