The musician Manuel Giró (Jiró) was a author of vocal and instrumental music; was born in Lérida on the 5th September 1848, the same year of the composers Allitsen, Dell'Orefice, Duparc, Gleason, Goldschmidt, Horner, Kistler, Kniese, Mancinelli, McCoy, Pembaur, Planquette, Puchalsky, Puget, Rice, Schröder, Schytte.
