The musician Paul (Emile) Des Marais, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Menominee on the 23th June 1920, the same year of the composers Arutiunian, Bush, Chailly, Fetler, Goodman, Jirásek, Khachaturian, Kim, Kont, Krol, La Montaine, Lundquist, Maderna, Marinuzzi, Maturana, Mennini, Milveden, Nilsson, Overton, Schibler, Tosatti, Turner, Valls (Gorina).
