The musician Hubert Dahmen (Damen), who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Amsterdam on the 5th December 1812, the same year of the composers Dannström (Johan) Isidor, Grädener, Hebenstreit, Hullah, Jullien, Kazynski, Klitsch, Krug, Peri, Tauwitz, Thalberg. He died in Amsterdam on the 21 December 1837
