The musician Alphons Czibulka, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Spisská Nová Ves on the 14th May 1842, the same year of the composers Arienzo, Boïto, Caldicott, Dall'Argine, Duvernoy, Eeden, Erkel, Hofmann, Hrimalý, Lavallée, Lysenko, Malashkin, Maréchal, Massenet, Mihalovich, Millöcker, Nesvera, Sullivan. He died in Vienna on the 27th October 1894
