The composer Dimitrie Cuclin, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Galati on the 24th March 1885, the same year of the composers Benvenuti, Berg, Collet, Delmas, Gailhard, Gui, Harrison, Hartmann, Hoedt, Hristic, Kamienski, Klemperer, Krylov, Künnecke, Lioncourt, Lualdi, Mahomayev, Massa, Mulè, Pacini, Pashchenko, Phillips, Pound, Riadis, Salomon, Taylor. He died in Bucarest on the 7th February 1978
