The composer Henry (Dixon) Cowell was born in Menlo Park on the 11th March 1897, the same year of the composers Ascone, Barth, Bentzon, Bravnicar, Fernström, Gerster, Golishev, Heward, Kerr, Korngold, Kósa, Lillen, Lorenzo Fernândez, Maganini, Mignone, Moeschinger, Riisager, Salmon, Sorozabal (Marialcurrena), Stringfield, Sutherland, Tansman. Died in Shady (New York) on the 10th December 1965
