The composer Philip Greeley Clapp, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Boston on the 4th August 1888, the same year of the composers Alexandrov, Beyer, Butting, Coppola, Crews, Delvincourt, Durey, Milligan, Odak, Rasbach, Shaposhnikov, Sklavos, Steiner. He died in Iowa City on the 9th April 1954
