Willy Burkhard was a author of vocal and instrumental music; was born in Evilard-sur-Bienne on the 17th April 1900, the same year of the composers Aav, Antheil, Barraud, Berezowsky, Bernard, Blum, Bush, Copland, Dunayevsky, Ermatinger, Ferroud, Godron, Halffter (Escriche), Haug, Head, Ikonomov, Krenek, Mosolov, Oboussier, Pimsleur, Raymond, Reutter, Salmhofer, Schmidt-Isserstedt, Shekhter, Taktakishvili. He died in Zurigo on the 18th June 1955
