Louis Brassin, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Aix-la-Chapelle on the 24th June 1840, the same year of the composers Audran, Bourgault-Ducoudray, Bronsart (von Schellendorf), Chaikovsky, Deslandres, Faccio, Gerbic, Goetz, Horneman, Jacobi, Kalhauge, Kleffel, Kühner, Lenepveu, Ricordi. He died in San Pietroburgo on the 17th May 1884
