The composer Dmitry (Stepanovich) Bortnyansky was born in Glukhov in 1751, the same year of the composers Birnbach, Kauer, Laserna, Lasser, Lemoyne, Radziwell, Salari, Schikaneder, Schröter, Stegmann. He died in San Pietroburgo on the 10th October 1825
