Ján Levoslav Bella

(1843-1936)

Ján Levoslav (Johann Leopold) Bella, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Liptovský Svätý Mikulás on the 4th September 1843, the same year of the composers Bechgaard, Bertha, Duyse, Erkel, Gialdini, Gregh, Grieg, Hamerik, Holst, Lefebvre, Lumbye, Marqués y García, Napoleão dos Santos, Neuendorff, Pessard, Stephanescu. He died in Bratislava on the 25th May 1936
