Josef (Joseph) Bayer, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Vienna on the 6th March 1852, the same year of the composers Borkowski, Clarus, Corder, Coronaro, Cowen, Gobatti, Grünfeld, Hillemacher, Housely, Huber, Kaan (Kaan-Albest), Laurens, Marzo, Mascheroni, Mengewein, Neitzel, Oswald, Pugno, Raida, Stanford. Died in Vienna on the 12nd March 1913
