The musician Kalervo Tuukkanen was a author of vocal and instrumental music; was born in Mikkeli on the 14th October 1909, the same year of the composers Bacewicz, Bijvanck, Bjelinski, Constantinescu, Cornejo, Doubrava, Dressel, Dzerzhinsky, Easdale, Estrada, Gavazzeni, Hajdu, Holmboe, Horký, Hughes, Kagen, Kubin, Lavagnino, Murrill, Mushel', Nordoff, Orr, Pesonen, Prokopiev, Röttger, Schoop, Schwaen, Siegmeister, Skulte, Thomas, Uhl. He died in Helsinki on the 12nd July 1979
