The musician Shalva (Mikhailovich) Taktakishvili, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Kvemo Khviti on the 27th August 1900, the same year of the composers Aav, Antheil, Barraud, Berezowsky, Bernard, Blum, Burkhard, Bush, Copland, Dunayevsky, Ermatinger, Ferroud, Godron, Halffter (Escriche), Haug, Head, Ikonomov, Krenek, Mosolov, Oboussier, Pimsleur, Raymond, Reutter, Salmhofer, Schmidt-Isserstedt, Shekhter. He died in Tbilisi on the 18th July 1965
