The composer Nikolay (Feopemptovich) Soloviev, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Petrozavodsk on the 9th May 1846, the same year of the composers Alferaki, Brüll, Cahen, Chueca, Coquard, Denza, Drigo, Erkel, Gomes de Araújo, Hallén, Jarecki, Kleinmichel, Lenormand, Noskowski, Ponce de León, Pratt, Serpette, Tyrrell, Valverde. He died in Petrograd on the 27th December 1916
