The composer Déodat de (Marie-Joseph-Alexandre) Séverac, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in St Félix de Caraman en Lauragais on the 20th July 1872, the same year of the composers Austin, Binicki, Borowski, Busser, Galeotti, Graener, Hausegger, Höeberg, Joteyko, Kaiser, Lamote de Grignon, Lorentz, Maclean, Moyzes, Möllendorf, Sekles. He died in Céret (Pyrénées-Orientales) on the 24th March 1921
